Website care

no lock-in

Updates, monitoring, small changes and someone to call. A monthly plan that keeps the site you paid for working, from around £250 a month, with no lock-in.

Launch isn't the finish line. It's the point where a website starts earning, and starts needing looking after.

Why it matters

Sites don't fail loudly. They drift. A plugin goes out of date, a form quietly stops sending, the prices on the services page are six months old, and nobody notices until a customer mentions it. By then it's been costing you enquiries for a while.

A care plan is the unglamorous fix: updates applied, uptime watched, small changes made without a fresh quote every time, and someone who already knows how your site is put together. It's the same people who built it, so nothing has to be explained twice.

Not everyone needs one, and we'll say so. If your site is a handful of pages that rarely change, ad hoc work when something comes up is cheaper and perfectly sensible. Care earns its place when the site is doing real work and you'd rather not think about it.

What a care plan covers

what you leave with
  • Software & dependency updates
  • Uptime monitoring
  • Small content changes
  • Priority support
  • Hosting & deployment
  • Performance checks
  • Analytics & tracking checks
  • A person who knows your site

How care works

  1. 01

    Handover

Every project ends with a post-launch window, usually 14 to 30 days, for launch-related fixes and handover questions, plus a walkthrough and short videos so you can make your own edits.

  2. 02

    Decide

When that window closes, you choose. Some sites genuinely don't need a plan, and we'd rather tell you that than sign you up to one.

  3. 03

    Monthly

Updates applied, uptime and performance watched, and the small changes you send handled as they come up rather than saved for a quarterly review.

  4. 04

    When something breaks

Support-plan clients get priority handling with clear response targets, and serious issues jump the queue ahead of scheduled work.

  5. 05

    Review

No lock-in, so the plan can change or stop whenever it stops being worth it. Nothing renews quietly in the background.

That's what a care plan does month to month. How we communicate, how money works and what we'll need from you is the same on every project. See how working with Lancio works

How long it takes

Care starts when the post-launch window ends, so there's no gap between the project finishing and the site being looked after. For a site we didn't build, we review what's there first, usually within a week, before quoting anything.

Small changes are handled as they arrive, not batched into a monthly release. If something is urgent and genuinely broken, it jumps the queue.

How pricing works

Website care starts from around £250 a month, covering updates, monitoring, small changes and support. Business-critical platforms with accounts, bookings, payments or integrations start from around £750 a month, scoped to risk and complexity rather than dropped into a tier that nearly fits.

No lock-in and no long contract. If the plan stops earning its place, you stop paying for it. Larger pieces of work (a new section, a new feature, a redesign) are quoted separately rather than quietly absorbed, so the monthly figure stays honest.

Common questions

What counts as a small change?
Text edits, swapping an image, updating prices or opening hours, adding a page that uses patterns the site already has. Bigger pieces (a new template, a new feature, restructuring a section) are quoted as their own job, so nobody has to argue about where the line sits. If something is borderline, we'll tell you before we start it, not after.
Do we have to be on a plan after launch?
No. Plenty of clients take the training, make their own edits, and call us when something bigger comes up. Ad hoc work is always available. A plan exists for the businesses that would rather the site was somebody else's problem.
Will you look after a site you didn't build?
Often, yes, after a review. We need to see how it's built and get the access the work needs before promising anything, because taking on someone else's site sight unseen helps nobody. If it's in a state where care would just be papering over cracks, we'll say that instead.
What happens if it breaks at 9pm?
We don't promise 24/7 emergency cover by default, and you should be wary of a small studio that does. Plan clients get priority handling with clear response targets, serious issues jump the queue, and if your site is genuinely business-critical, guaranteed out-of-hours support can be agreed and priced properly.
Who owns the site while you're looking after it?
You do, throughout. The domain, the content and the finished code are yours once the project is paid for. We often manage the hosting and deployment stack because it's the simplest arrangement for modern sites, with access and responsibilities agreed clearly in writing rather than assumed.
