Why we chose Astro for the Lancio Studio website
Most visitors do not care which framework a website uses. They care whether it is quick, clear and easy to use. Here is why Astro suited Lancio, and why we did not need WordPress or another CMS.
Sites that sell, not just sit there. Designed and built to load fast, get found, and turn visitors into enquiries, then kept working long after launch.
A website isn't a brochure you tick off. It's your hardest-working salesperson, so it should be built to actually sell.
Plenty of sites look fine and do nothing. They load slowly, bury the point, and leave visitors guessing what to do next. Pretty, but not persuasive.
We design and build websites that earn their keep: clear on who you're for and why you, fast on every device, structured to be found in search, and pointed squarely at turning a visit into an enquiry.
Because the people who own it also design it, write the code and ship it, nothing gets lost in a hand-off and the detail stays right. It actually launches, then keeps getting better after it does.
We get clear on goals, audience and the one job the site has to do, then map the pages and journeys that get there.
Structure and flow first: what goes where, in what order, so the right action is always the obvious one.
One strong homepage direction first: it sets the style, hierarchy and tone, with two rounds of refinement included. Once it's agreed, the rest of the site is designed in the real thing.
Built fast, accessible and responsive, reviewed on a staging link as it takes shape, with a clean editing area if you'll update content yourself.
Hosting, domain, SSL, analytics and tracking all set up properly, then a careful go-live.
A post-launch window for fixes and handover questions, then care or improvements as the site earns its keep. A site is never really 'finished'.
That's the shape of a websites project. How we communicate, how money works and what we'll need from you is the same on every project. See how working with Lancio works
Most website projects take four to eight weeks. A focused small-business site can be quicker; a larger site with more content, CMS setup, integrations or brand work attached takes longer.
The biggest variable is rarely the build. It's content and decisions: ready copy and quick feedback keep a project at the fast end, while copy written from scratch and a crowd of stakeholders slow it down. We take on a small number of projects at a time, so lead time to start is usually two to six weeks.
Most website projects land between £3,000 and £5,000+. Smaller, focused sites start from around £2,500 when the structure is simple and the content is ready; more pages, CMS setup, content support, SEO migration, integrations or brand work push it up. Either way it's a fixed price agreed before we start, not a meter.
Payment is simple: half to book the project into the schedule, half before launch. Ongoing care (updates, monitoring, small changes and support) is available from around £250 a month if you'd like the site looked after without thinking about it. No lock-in.
An East Midlands education partnership needed one place for colleagues to find and book professional development. We designed and built it end to end, from the public browsing and booking experience through to the back office that runs every event.
“The finished product is sleek, intuitive, and perfectly on brand, offering a professional and user-friendly interface that reflects our organisation's identity.”
